WellBetX™ Complete Multi

WellBetX™ Complete Multi for Glucose Balance
A Must-Have Supplement for Diabetes, Hypoglycemia and Weight Loss

The WellBetX™ Complete Multi for Glucose Balance is a first. it is the only multivitamin specifically formulated for all blood sugar disorders, including high blood sugar (diabetes), low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), insulin resistance and syndrome X.

It is the ideal multivitamin for any weight loss program or diet whether one is trying to control caloric intake or carbohydrates. it is the only multivitamin that contains all the daily vitamins and minerals in the right balance required for blood sugar maintenance and control, reducing complications such as infections while boosting immune function.

For diabetics, this multivitamin is an absolute must, providing blood sugar control while reducing the development of diabetic complications. This requires the right nutrients in the right amounts.

Only the WellBetX
™ Complete Multi for Glucose Balance provides the meaningful amounts of nutrients to nourish and protect. Let's examine the unique features of this unique multivitamin, starting with the vital minerals and their role in the body's sugar metabolism.

Chromium

Chromium is vital to proper blood sugar control, as it functions in the body as a key constituent in the glucose tolerance factor. Chromium works closely with insulin in facilitating the uptake of glucose into cells.

Without chromium, insulin's action is blocked and glucose levels are elevated. There is evidence that marginal chromium deficiency is quite common in North America. A chromium deficiency may be an underlying contributing factor to the tremendous number of persons that have diabetes and hypoglycemia and are obese.

There have been more than 20 clinical studies of chromium supplementation in diabetes. In some of these studies, supplementing the diet with chromium in type 2 diabetes has been shown to decrease fasting glucose levels, improve glucose tolerance, lower insulin levels, and decrease total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol levels.

Although other studies have not shown chromium to exert much effect in improving glucose tolerance in diabetes, there is no argument that chromium is an important mineral in blood sugar metabolism.

At this time, however, it appears that chromium supplementation is likely to produce meaningful improvement in glycemic control only in people who are deficient in this essential trace element.

Although there is no RDA for chromium, it appears anyone with a sugar imbalance or diabetes could benefit from supplementing with 400 mcg or more per day.

Magnesium

Like chromium, magnesium is also involved in glucose metabolism. There is considerable evidence that diabetics should take supplemental magnesium: More than half of all people with diabetes show evidence of magnesium deficiency, and magnesium may prevent some complications of diabetes such as retinopathy and neuropathy.

Clinical studies have shown that magnesium supplementation (usually 400 to 500 mg per day) improves insulin response and action, glucose tolerance and the fluidity of the red blood cell membrane in patients with diabetes.

The best dietary sources of magnesium are tofu, legumes, seeds, nuts, whole grains and green leafy vegetables. In additions to eating a diet rich in magnesium, diabetics should supplement their diet with 300 to 500 mg of magnesium daily.

For best results, a highly absorbable form of magnesium, such as magnesium citrate or aspartate, should be taken. Also, diabetics needs to get at least 25 mg of Vitamin B6  per day as the level of Vitamin B6 is intricately connected to magnesium content.

Without Vitamin B6 (and Vitamin E) magnesium will not get inside the cell and will, therefore, be useless.

Zinc

Zinc is involved in virtually all aspects of insulin metabolism: synthesis, secretion, and utilization. Zinc also protects against beta cell destruction and has well-known antiviral effects. Diabetics typically excrete too much zinc in the urine and therefore require supplementation. Diabetics should take at least 30 mg of zinc per day.

Manganese

Manganese is a cofactor for certain enzymes involved in the intermediary metabolism of carbohydrates,. In addition, the concentration of manganese in the pancreas is approximately ten times higher than in other organs.

Deficiencies can impair glucose utilization while intra-uterine deficiency produces islet cell atrophy. In guinea pigs, manganese deficiency results in diabetes and the frequent birth of offspring who develop pancreatic abnormalities or no pancreas at all.

Diabetics have been shown to have only half the manganese of normal individuals. A good daily dose of manganese for a diabetic is 3 to 5 mg.

Copper

Copper is involved with insulin binding, and copper deficiency in mammals may be reflected in increased glucosylated hemoglobin, indicative of chronically raised blood sugar levels.

Vanadium

Vanadium seems to help improve blood sugar levels and insulin resistance, a persistent health problem that affects many people. Often as people age, their cell receptor sites are not as responsive to their own production of insulin, causing a dangerous rise in blood sugar. Preliminary studies have confirmed that vanadium has a blood-sugar lowering effect in non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.

Molybdenum

Molybdenum is a vital part of the aldehyde oxidase enzyme system which helps in the oxidation of carbohydrates.

    Extra Iron?

The WellBetX™ Complete Multi for Glucose Balance does not contain additional iron. Persons with blood sugar problems don't generally need extra iron (they likely get enough just in regular foods or meal replacements) because iron can accumulate in the pancreas causing tissue damage. Excess iron in relation to copper results in increased lipid peroxidation.

Vitamin C

Since the transport of Vitamin C into cells in enhanced by insulin, many people with diabetes suffer from a relative deficiency of Vitamin C inside their cells even if they consume an adequate amount of Vitamin C in their diet.

As a result, people with diabetes need to take extra Vitamin C. In addition to its role as an antioxidant, Vitamin C is required in immune functions and the manufacture of collagen, the main protein substance of the human body.

Since collagen is such an important protein for the structures that hold our body together (connective tissue, cartilage, tendons, etc.) Vitamin C is vital for wound repair, healthy gums, and the prevention of easy bruising.

A chronic, latent Vitamin c deficiency leads to a number of problems for the diabetic, including an increased tendency to bleed (increased capillary permeability), poor wound healing, elevations in cholesterol levels, and a depressed immune system.

Vitamin C supplementation has shown to exert a mild effect in improving glucose control as evident by slightly lower A1C in the Vitamin C group (8.5 percent) compared to a placebo (9.3 percent) in one double-blind study.

Probably more important than any significant effect on blood sugar control is the fact that Vitamin C supplementation has been shown to reduce the formation of compounds linked to the development of diabetic complications.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)

Diabetics tend to have low serum thiamin levels. Experts feel that thiamin deficiency may be related to the development of diabetic neuropathy.

Niacinamide

Supplementing the diet with Vitamin B3 in the form of niacinamide has been shown to exert many favorable effects. Foremost is its possible application in reversing recently diagnosed type 1 diabetes.

Vitamin B6

Not only is Vitamin B6 extremely important to the formation of body proteins, red blood cells and prostaglandins, it also appears to offer significant protection against the development of diabetic nerve disease (neuropathy).

Diabetics with neuropathy have been shown to be deficient in Vitamin B6 and to benefit from supplementation. Individuals with long-standing diabetes or who are developing signs of peripheral nerve abnormalities should definitely supplement their diets with Vitamin B6.

Vitamin B6 is also important in preventing other diabetic complications.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 deficiency is common in insulin-dependent diabetes and may result in pernicious anemia.

The Fat-Soluble Vitamins

The fat-soluble vitamins such as Vitamins A and D also play an important role. In moderate amounts, Vitamins A and D stimulate insulin release from the pancreas. Vitamin D is low in most forms of diabetes and plays a synergistic role with calcium, copper, parathyroid hormone, estrogen and insulin.

Other Protection

Diabetes and other blood sugar disorders often lead to progressive blood vessel damage due to the high amounts of circulating blood sugars and/or insulin. This in turns leads to nerve, eye, kidney and cardiovascular damage, often resulting in amputations and even death.

Simply taking extra Vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid (such as found in this formula) can also prevent high homocysteine levels, another high risk factor for blood vessel damage.

Many of the vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin E and selenium also act as antioxidants, protecting delicate cellular membranes from damaging free radicals.

The WellBetX™ Complete Multi for Glucose Balance is also enhanced with extra herbs and antioxidants including alfalfa, spirulina, wheat grass juice concentrate, green tea, grape seed phytosome, curcumin, ginger extract, lutein, lycopene and bee pollen.

*Note To Diabetics*
